Mini pigs gained popularity. If you are allergic to cats, or your children need a friend which will not scratch or bite, fish or mini pigs are the right pets for your family. Mini pigs are quiet miniature home pets. These tiny exotic animals are tender, smart, clean and odor free.
Mini pigs are well-behaved, cute and intelligent, but exotic miniature pets are just animals, and you need to make some changes, redesign your interior and backyard for creating safe home design and fun atmosphere for your pot bellied pig.
Usually miniature pigs have nothing against the bath. You can wash pot bellied pigs at the same spot where your miniature pet enjoys swimming.
Purchase a special pet shampoo from a local pet store or online. If you can not buy miniature pigs shampoo, wash your pet with clean water and natural bristle brush. Also you can rub miniature pigs skin with a brush without shampoo, rinse, then wrap the pet in a warm towel to dry. Tender pigs can catch cold.
The pets, which grow to be just 14in tall, have become so popular that they are now almost impossible to get hold of in Britain. They have even been snapped up by celebrities, including Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley.
“Demand for micro pigs is soaring and we are inundated with enquiries every day,” said Jane Croft, 42, who breeds them. “It’s amazing how popular they have suddenly become and just how many people want pigs as pets.”
Micro pigs are much smaller than a standard farm pig and weigh 9oz, about the size of a tea cup when they are born. At two years old they are fully grown and weigh in around 40-65 lb and are around knee height at 12-16in tall. They can live for up to 18 years, but make popular pets as they are low maintenance, quiet and surprisingly clean.
“Micro pigs make fantastic pets as they are very low maintenance. You don’t have to take them for walks and they have very few health issues,” said Mrs Croft, who runs Little Pig Farm in Christchurch, Cambridgeshire.
“They don’t make much noise, they are easy to lavatory train and once they have bonded with you they are very loving. “They are actually very clean and never mess in their bedding and are just so adorable.
“They are also highly intelligent and are the fourth most intelligent species after man, monkey and dolphin. “They really are the perfect pets, I don’t know why people haven’t thought of them before.”
Micro pigs are also good alternative pets for people with allergies. “Lots of people are allergic to cats and dogs but you can’t get allergies from pigs as their skin is very similar to ours, and the have hair not fur” added Mrs Croft. “We’ve had many parents buy pigs for their children who suffer from fur allergies.”The Little Pig farm has been getting 4,000 hits a week and at least 60 emails and 40 phone calls.
The pigs are crosses of Miniature Pot Bellied pigs with Tamworths, Kune Kunes and Gloucester Old Spots to create their tiny, colourful Micro Pigs, which are sold for between £195 and £700. The size of the piglets get smaller with every litter with Peanut the piglet believed to be one of the tiniest adult pigs in Europe.
She weighed just under 2kg at twelve weeks old and now lives indoors with Mrs Croft as a companion to her dog and sleeps on the sofa. At 13 months she has almost stopped growing and is just 12 inches tall.
1. Miniature pigs need some space to exercise, but these wonder pets can damage your backyard landscaping. Plan and design the area, where your pot bellied pigs can enjoy the nature.
2. Miniature pigs love to swim. Pot bellied pigs do not sweat, and they need to cool down in the water. Pigs enjoy water, and you need to take care of your miniature pet health. If you do not have a pool, design miniature pet paradise for your Oink swimming.
Any shallow tray can be used. Fill it up with water to a half of the size of your miniature pig. The water should be warm, at the room temperature, in winter and in summer.
3. Pot bellied pigs do not require pet grooming. Miniature pigs do not shed, and their skin does not smell. However, pigs should be washed. You need to design a comfortable place for your mini pigs bath.

loveable Little Creatures-Ducks
Although ducks are cute birds to have as pets, they are not for everybody. For one, ducks need at least an artificial pond to live happily. And ducks are social birds; they live in flocks. So you can’t get just one duck; you need at least two. If you have the necessary space, however, adult ducks are cute farm animals you can have waddling in your backyard as pets.
Pet duck temperament
Ducks are colorful big birds that are entertaining to watch wading on your pond or waddling in your backyard. They’re pretty sturdy compared to other big pet birds, so you can save on veterinary bills. And unlike other big pet bird species, you can pet and carry ducks. In fact, being social animals, they love human companion. That’s why it’s necessary to allocate few minutes of your time a day to keep your pet ducks company.
Housing Pet Ducks
No matter how cute they are, you can’t take your pet ducks inside your house. They can’t be potty train; you don’t want them relieving themselves on your floor or furniture. Luckily, ducks aren’t too picky when it comes to housing. A simple building or a large dog house will do for a pair of ducks. And adult ducks are pretty efficient in insulating themselves; they don’t need heat lumps during winter as long as they’re protected from rain, wind, and snow. Keep their house warm and comfy with hay or other warm farm animal beddings, too.
Feeding Pet Ducks
Feeding pet ducks is easy. You can buy poultry pellets or poultry mash from farm feed supply store near you or you can shop poultry feeds online. This can serve as your ducks’ main diet. However, know that most of these commercially prepared poultry feeds are medicated. So to keep everything organic with your duck, shop for un-medicated feeds online or ask the feed supply store technician for un-medicated feed. Another important thing to remember when feeding ducks with commercial poultry feeds is to always keep clean water near the feeder. Ducks need water to clear dry food particles stuck on the roof of their beaks obstructing their breathing vents. It’s important to feed them leafy greens like vegetables and cut grass too. For treat, you can give ducks hard-boiled eggs, insects, bait worms, and bird seeds.
Make Pet Ducks Happy
Do you notice that duck’s feet are webbed? That’s because the bird loves to wade on water. So to make pet ducks happy, just keep an artificial pool or pond with clean water where they can swim whenever they want. It’s very entertaining to watch them dive raising their hiney in search of food in the water. Putting small feeder fish and snails on their artificial pond should keep them busy. If a dug up pond is not available, you can use an inflatable pool as an alternative.
Permit to Raise Pet Ducks
Ducks are farm animals, so to keep a couple as pets, you need permit issued by your local Department of Agriculture or animal control. Don’t forget to secure a permit before shopping for ducks online or checking some from farm fairs.
Other Things to Consider
Aside from the permit, you need to consider other things when planning to have pet ducks. To help you decide, see if you can answer yes to all these questions:
1. Do you have few minutes a day to keep your ducks company?
2. Do you have a space in your hard for duck house and a small artificial pond?
3. Is your yard safe from wild animals that can prey on ducks?
4. Are you ready to take care of ducks while it lives up to maximum of 15 years?
If you can answer yes to all these, then you’re ready to shop for your first pair of pet ducks.

Consider This When Determining Your Puppy Dog’s Diet
You have recently welcomed a new cute and cuddly puppy into your home. A healthy diet is essential for a long, happy life together. What things do you need to consider when selecting your puppy dog’s diet? Always talk to your vet about a proper puppy dog diet. Remember that a puppy dog’s diet is not the same as an adult dog’s diet. Avoid a trip to the grocery store to grab a bag of adult dog food to feed your pet. This will not meet the nutritional needs of a healthy puppy dog diet.
Natural or Organic for Your Puppy Dog’s Diet?
You can choose to feed your new puppy one of several options. Natural and organic puppy dog diets have become more popular in recent years. Some pet owners prefer to feed a raw diet to their puppy. Most people choose to use kibble as the main component of the puppy dog’s diet. For this reason, I will focus primarily on this choice.
As you wean the puppy, a high-quality puppy food with tiny kibble is best. A puppy dog’s diet should include all the essential vitamins to create a healthy diet for excellent growth. Feed your new puppy three or four times a day. Your puppy dog’s diet should consist of puppy food moisten with water. Do not moisten the puppy food with milk. The milk acts as a laxative in your puppy dog’s diet. The water will create a softer, more palatable cuisine for your pet.
As the new puppy grows and becomes accustomed to eating the kibble as a regular part of his or her diet, you will want to gradually decrease the amount of water. If you plan to feed dry dog food in the future, expect to transition the dog’s diet earlier than later. Continuing to moisten the dog food may make transition more difficult later in life. By six weeks of age, your puppy dog’s diet can be solid kibble.
Your puppy should be permitted all the kibble he or she wants during the initial phase of the weaning process. Make sure you present the puppy the new diet of puppy food at regular times. Around five months of age, your puppy dog’s diet should decrease to only two feeding time’s per day. By this time, you should establish a specific quantity of food per day to ensure a healthy diet and weight for your dog.
Should You Talk to Your Vet About Your Puppy Dog’s Diet?
Talk to your vet about how much to feed your new puppy. All puppies look cute, round and cuddly at some point during their first few months. It can be difficult to know when your puppy is overweight. Your veterinarian will help to advise you on this issue. It is a good idea to open up the door of communication between you and your vet now. Both vet and owner only want what is best for the new puppy.
Feeding your new puppy a healthy diet does not have to be difficult. Talk to your vet for advice and information. Always choose a quality food as the main source of nutrition in your puppy dog’s diet. A healthy diet for your puppy will set the stage for a healthy dog in the years to come.
